Google Uncovers 2nd Generation Nexus 7 Tablet Running on Jelly Bean, Android 4.3
Google is rolling out a 2nd generation Nexus 7 tablet designed for increased performance and featuring the company's just-announced mobile OS, Android4.3 which is Jelly Bean.
The device provides enormous enhancements over the real Nexus 7 tablet that Google released one year ago. It is also the primary tablet to ship with Android Jelly Bean version, the very current version of Google's mobile operating system, the company introduced on Wednesday.
The device was announced by various Google executives during a meeting handled by Sundar Pichai, who is head of Android, Chrome and apps at Google from India.
Enhanced portability, speed and graphics annexes the enhancements to the Nexus 7 tablet. The tablet will be available in 3 different models:Models with Price:
a 16GB Wi-Fi version, a 32GB Wi-Fi model, and a 32GB 4G LTE version and the prices are $229, $269 and @349 respectively.
The Wi-Fi models will be available from Tuesday at the Google Play store, while the 4G model will be available from the next week.
In terms of portability, the new Nexus 7 is almost two millimeters thinner than the actual. The device features a 7-inch display, remain same size as its previous one, but packs in more pixels, Google said, going from 1280 x 800 to true 1080 HD at 1920 x 1200 pixels in the upcoming new model. It also can show a 30 percent wider range of colors.
The tablet also has dual cameras, with a 1.2MP camera in the front and a 5MP lens in the back.
Internally, the Nexus 7 carries a 1.5Ghz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, giving it a 4times strengthen graphics processing unit than the actual Nexus 7. The CPU is also 1.8 times faster and the system memory has been increased to adopt 2GB of RAM.
It also includes dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 for powering peripheral devices with low energy.
The Android 4.3 software on the Nexus 7 also has a new restricted profiles option to provide users more privileges over who can access particular content and apps on the tablet.
In recent years Google's product profile has developed rapidly with its bread & butter search technology.
